I first found out about Le Jardin after my parents mentioned “a garden restaurant” they visited after their wedding anniversary dinner. They were talking about things they enjoyed recently, and somewhere between dishes and memories, my mother then commented about how it felt like being in a story book fantasy while my father told me to drop a note and visit it one day.
As a filial son and a food enthusiast, Le Jardin became one of those things I kept thinking I would eventually explore properly, not just as a recommendation but as a place that already had a faint personal thread attached to it before I even arrived.
Arriving at Le Jardin Singapore on Cox Terrace Level 2
The walk up to Fort Canning Arts Centre in Singapore already sets the tone before I arrive at Le Jardin Restaurant. I’d say by the time you find 5 Cox Terrace Level 2 Fort Canning, the city feels far away and the air carries something quieter.
Sitting outside, I wondered where else I might find another restaurant like this and whether there are corners of Singapore where good meals look just as inviting, whether early or late in the evening.
Victorian Vibe and Equally Aesthetic Seating Choices

Le Jardin’s outdoor seating at Fort Canning offered an ambience with a Victorian effect that no careful interior can fully replicate. The terrace becomes the room, light filtering through leaves onto surfaces in soft, shifting patches.
I noticed multiple diners enjoy tables that was surrounded by plants, and how each table featured a living flower centrepiece that adds to the charm.
Out of curiousity, I also glimpsed the restaurant’s indoor seating. The interior is beautifully decorated, surrounded by fresh flowers and plants that create a garden atmosphere inside the restaurant. It created this intimate, and somewhat otherworldly atmosphere I’ve yet to see in other restaurants.
Flavors and Impressions from the Food Ordered

I chose Pan Seared Salmon as my started dish. It was earthy and calm, with the fish holding its sauce without fuss and the asparagus bringing a depth that matched the garden ambience around my table. I was told a lot of their food links to themes of nature like their earlier menu, Forest Mushroom Tagliatelle.
The Grain Fed Ribeye arrived perfectly seared with a smoky miso butter melting over its rich surface, the beef jus lending a deep savoury note that softly pulled each flavour together. The meat was tender and matched the crisp freshness of the mixed salad, making each bite feel grounded and filling.
Then finishing with the Chocolate Hazelnut Belgian Waffles. It was unfortunate I couldn’t try their Lemon Meringue Tart and Fig & Salted Caramel French Toast that was recommended by my father. But I don’t think I missed out when their waffles felt like a gentle welcome with its balanced sweetness. The hazelnut clung to the soft waffle bread and made each mouthful feel both familiar and thoughtfully composed.
Nature in a Cup: Uji Matcha and Hojicha at Le Jardin Restaurant Singapore

The menu encourages diners to explore and choose dishes thoughtfully, whether for breakfast, dinner, or any meal and beverages in between.
I ordered the premium Uji matcha and premium hojicha to see how the drinks would sit beside the garden dishes.
The premium Uji matcha arrived vibrant and lush, its grassy umami note cleansing the palate and adding a quiet depth to the meal, while the premium hojicha was toasty and slightly sweet with earthy layers that grounded the lighter flavours of the courses.
Taken together, these specialty drinks made the moment feel more deliberate, like a reminder that drinks here are part of the story and not just an afterthought. These two offered a gentle warmth that made me savour both the food and the calm around the garden beyond the table.
Le Jardin’s Quiet Care and Timing

Service at Fort Canning Le Jardin is attentive without ever feeling intrusive, letting diners notice the garden setting and Victorian-inspired interior. Each dish is placed with care, giving space to enjoy the details of fresh flowers and decor.
The staff’s timing keeps the meal unhurried, turning each course into part of the overall experience. Their restraint lets the ambient sounds and sunlight of Fort Canning mingle with the meal, making service feel like its own quiet note.
Finding Your Next Meal at Le Jardin
Le Jardin at 5 Cox Terrace Level 2 Fort Canning Arts Centre is more than a restaurant; it is a space where sunlight, greenery, and carefully plated dishes quietly meet. From the soft notes of salted caramel French toast to fig-accented creations, every detail, from fresh flowers on the table to the Victorian-inspired interior, makes each visit feel considered and personal.
